Peter Rutherford was a British spy who had adventures with Maurice Newbury and Veronica Hobbes, as well as Archibald Angelchrist.[source needed]

Behind the scenes

The character of Peter Rutherford was created for the short story The Maharajah's Star in the 2011 charity anthology Voices from the Past in which he appeared alongside Archibald Angelchrist. It wasn't until the release of The Casebook of Newbury & Hobbes in 2013 that this story was published in an official context. Rutherford also appeared in the anthology's previous story A Night, Remembered and the later story Old Friends. In 2017 Rutherford appeared as a main character in the novel Ghosts of Empire from Mann's Ghost series.
