The Face of God was an unproduced story written by then-producer John Wiles for Season 3. Little is known about it.
It would have concerned a planet that the Doctor visits throughout its history, unwittingly setting himself up as a deity worshipped in later years by an order of religious fanatics. The revelation that he was the order's deity would not have come until the final episode. Certain plot points were reused for stories such as The Ark and The Savages.[source needed]
