Squadron Leader was a military rank. On Earth, it was the air force equivalent of a major on some countries including the UK.
Makkith, second to Alpha, was squadron leader of Kodath Squadron, a squadron of humanised Daleks. Ultimately, the humanised Daleks destroyed themselves en masse to prevent the Kata-Phobus from feeding on them. (COMIC: Children of the Revolution)
