Colonel Snathe was a commanding officer from the Imperial Sontaran Fleet before he was banished for some failure to the Betrothal of Sontar, a Sontaran mining ship, where he is forced to work with the pacifistic Commander Lerox whose kind he saw as mongrels. He begins searching for the Worldbane. The Worldbane was believed to be the most powerful superweapon ever created and was located on the icy world of Serac. Snathe had the Sigil of Thanatos tattooed onto his chest to remind him of his search.

Snathe flees, only to be poetically defeated by some of the Inuk he and his troops oppressed. (COMIC: The Betrothal of Sontar)
