Welcome to the Tardis:About Nahald

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:
~ ~ ~ ~

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. -- Mini-mitch (Talk) 00:01, 21 December 2012

Christmas cheeredit source

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!

Dashesedit source

Hi! Please do not remove the spaces between m-dashes, as you did at TARDIS and Starborn (audio story). This matter was discussed at Thread:124059, and while no consensus was reached, the general idea was to leave the spaces in. The spaces make for much easier reading on a small mobile device. In addition, there are probably thousands of examples of m-dashes with spaces throughout the wiki, and neither you, nor I, nor anyone else could possibly correct them all; it's better to maintain a consistent pattern. Thanks. Shambala108 14:06, March 28, 2014 (UTC)

Dashes revisitededit source

Hi! Please re-read the note that I posted above a few months ago re the use of dashes on article pages. Thanks. Shambala108 17:59, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Re:article needs deletionedit source

Got it, thanks. In the future, you can add a Delete tag to a page you think needs deleting. Shambala108 20:38, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

Moving pagesedit source

Hi! Please note that, per Thread:128198, non-admins are not allowed to move pages. There are several reasons for this. For one thing, non-admins don't have the ability to delete the re-directs that are automatically created with a page move. Also, non-admins usually don't bother to change the links when they move pages.

Most importantly in this case, your page move of Demon (The Relics of Time) violated Tardis:Character names. If you had brought it up for discussion, you would have learned that the existing name was the correct name according to policy. Most page moves require discussion by the community before the page can be moved.

In the future, if you see a page that you think needs to be moved, use the Rename tag so that the issue can be discussed. Thanks. Shambala108 00:43, May 1, 2015 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I don't think individual wikis have the ability to do that. Shambala108 02:23, May 1, 2015 (UTC)

Reminderedit source

Hi! Like I said above, please do not move pages. If you think a page needs moving, add the rename or speedy rename tag. Thanks. Shambala108 14:56, August 1, 2015 (UTC)

Spoiler policyedit source

Hi! I had to undo your edit to Cuthbert. This wiki's spoiler policy does not allow any information from upcoming stories, including audio stories. Once the stories have been officially released, you can add the information to the page. Thanks! P&P talk contribs 01:11, April 29, 2016 (UTC)

2 timelineedit source

Sorty if this is poorly written, Im using my phone since Im homr for Christmas crom University and there is no computer here. Will be bavk to proper efiting cone January 4.

Firstly, Id like to put to bed a rumour (of miscomsception) thats been going around: only a few things on the timelinr pages are my odeas, the majority are facts found on this wiki and other wdbsites that try to tackle the chronology of Who, all listed in the pages for all to see.

Now that thats out the way, Id like to congratulate you for finding a timescale gor early Season 6 to adjust to your theory, though you made one mistake: 2 is not taken out of his timelind durinv Forgottrn. 10 is recalling thr adventure while he is alone (more of less). So 2s memory would not be effected.

Furthurmore, at the rnd of Wherl in Space, Zoe has her hair slighyly but noticably shorter, anc in a diffrent style than she has it in Dominators. Now this is obviously a result of the real life productiob timetablws being ling enough apart for Wfndy Padbury to get a gair chsnge, but presdnts in universe evidence to a gap betwedn thd teo seriels, jowever minor it may be.

Also, at the start of Dominators, while the Doctor does say he is yired due yo "projecting thoughts", he soes not specify the context; we thd audience are left to assume he is talking about thd repeat. Take the case of The Smugglers and The Tenth Planet: one leads into the other quite explicitly, but for 50 years there were stories set between the two before Big Finush did something about it. Now think of Fury of the Deep, which by all accounts seems yo lead inyo Wherl in Space, yet leaves enough wiggle room by having a jump cut after Victoria leaves to Jamie dleeping withour exactly saying how much time passes, thus leaving room for tv comics, which flat out admit the Doctor faces the Krotons gor the first time when he reunits with Jamie betwefn Seadons 5 and 6.

The bottom line is, Dr. 2 has ond of thd top 3 hardest tomelines yo pin down alongsude 4 and 7, and, with new entries being added everyday that change hus timeline piece by puece, theres no telljng shere things might lead inyo what. If you think youve cracked some code, thdn by sll means rmbrace it, just be certain that your theory does not vlash with hardcore facts, such as thd TARDIS rebuilding itself before Mind Robber and Invasion or Zoe having a diffrent hairstyle come Season 6.

Incedenyly, a Merry Christmas to you, a very wothy debatibg partner. ;) BananaClownMan 00:01, December 23, 2017 (UTC)

Seventh Doctor timelineedit source

Hello, Nahald. I wanted to talk about something with you; the Seventh Doctor timeline page. You've properly noticed that its the one timeline page I don't edit. That's because, since Dr. 7 has the mostly complicated timeline, I always ended up getting into strong debates about what went where. After one such debated ended up with me being exiled for 6 months, I decided that the best way to move forward was to make my own page and leave the real page for everyone else to debate about. You can see the page I use here. Now, as to how this relates to you, I've noticed that the unplaced stories are adding up, and you appear to be the only other editor left that edits these pages. I wanted to ask if it was okay with you if I upload what's in my sandbox timeline onto the main page, or, failing that, let you know where I placed the unplaced stories in my sandbox.BananaClownMan 18:49, January 22, 2018 (UTC)

Wild Pasturesedit source

There isn't much information about that audio available on this wiki. I endes up putting it there based on where it was placed on Sylvia's article. If you have listened to it, and think its narrative feels more post-Donna, then by all means feel free to move it, with a comment about the narrative implying its new placement.BananaClownMan 10:13, June 10, 2018 (UTC)

REMINDERedit source

Hi, please go up the page and re-read the TWO posts I left about page moves. There is a procedure to follow in asking for pages to be moved, which I explained in the first post above. When non-admins move pages, there are several steps they are unable to do that admins must do to clean up. Therefore, only admins are permitted to move pages. Please refrain from moving any pages on this wiki. Thanks, Shambala108 00:15, September 14, 2018 (UTC)

Seasonal warningsedit source

Hi! Thanks for the heads up. I blocked both users. You can now finish cleaning the pages unperturbed. The season numbers they inserted were completely wrong and went against both the (inofficial) numbering used by Big Finish Productions for their initial run of Eighth Doctor Adventures and the through numbering of seasons sometimes applied on this wiki and elsewhere, according to which the current series is Season 37. Sixth Doctor Timelineedit source

Thank you for getting in touch, that’s probably the better thing to do than edit war, so I really should have extended you the same courtesy immediately. I guess all I can do is explain to you my viewpoint.

Well for a start, Eyespider is far from an reliable resource to use, particularly for a Timeline that’s trying to be as accurate as possible and use a little headcanon and fan theory as possible. That’s not to say I think I’m right and Eyespider is wrong about timelines, I jus don’t think we should be so reliant on his website.

Especially considering that most of his own work is based on the reference guide, which openly admits that the placement for this story is arbitrary and the only hint as to its placement is that Peri’s homesick. On top of that, the Doctor violently kills a homeless man in this story which would suggest that this takes place around the time of The Two Doctors.

Although again, it’s still fairly arbitrary in terms of placement, but works where I placed it as part of a character arc surrounding the Doctor’s more violent tendencies following The Two Doctors whereas the Reference Guide/Eyespider slot is just reaching to place it before the DWM comic and give Peri a departure story.

And on top of that Eyespider has about one story I think between The Reaping and CHAOS. To me it’s difficult to believe that she would feel homesickness and want to return to 1980s America so soon after The Reaping. - SarahJaneFan 09:11, April 18, 2019 (UTC)

You can try to fudge, but the fact is that the Doctor and Peri visit New York briefly in CHAOS and leave together at the end, so it doesn’t fit with her being in New York in the comics and doesn’t really make for a particularly satisfying placement at all. SarahJaneFan 07:52, April 19, 2019 (UTC)

UNIT Timelineedit source

Yeah there’s not really any way around it. There is a line in Incursions that implies a 2019 setting, but there’s another one entirely that suggests 2013. There’s so many references throughout these sets that indicate that Osgood hasn’t been doubled yet.

Big Finish said in their article for the release of Incursions that when the series returns, they’ll be moving into the Capaldi era with Two Osgoods. Cyber-Reality is definitely pre-Death in Heaven because Osgood makes a comment about how she can’t believe she actually met the Master, and then survived the encounter. Revisitations begins immediately after Cyber-Reality. And then Encounters is explicitly a couple of months before Cyber-Reality.

The first four boxsets are definitely before Osgood meets the Doctor, so pre-Day of the Doctor. The latter four are between The Power of Three and Death in Heaven, and also the other sets. Some f the dates might be a bit iffy, but these are definitely supposed to be pre-Day of the Doctor.

In The Power of River Song, Osgood travels back to the early 1970s. I think at one point it’s said to Ben 1973 but then later they say 1971. This is said to be about 40 years in the past. They then travel forward to 2091 which is said to be 70 years in the future, which would put it closer to 2021. Then River and Osgood say that 2091 is nearly 80 years in the future, which would put it a little after 2011, so probably 2013. SarahJaneFan 08:18, May 10, 2019 (UTC)

Basically someone misinterpreted a scene in Shutdown and decided it was supposed to be post-Day of the Doctor. In the scene, Osgood is telling a Uni friend about her job and UNIT, and uses some device to give her a tour of the Tower of London with a projection from her mind. Suddenly you hear the TARDIS materialise and the friend asks Osgood who the man in the bow tie is, and she responds with a comment like “You mustn’t let your mind wander when using this device”. Which could to be fair, be interpreted as her daydreaming about the Doctor potentialy coming to her place of work, or her remembering the events of Day of the Doctor. Though Silenced has a comment being made about how “Osgood’s can’t be duplicated” suggesting a pre-Day setting and pretty much all the other sets have little comments that imply a pre-Day setting.

So I think the reason why everything was post-Day for a while was pretty much because one person took that scene in Shutdown to mean post-Day when it came out and no one has ever questioned it since. SarahJaneFan 10:54, May 12, 2019 (UTC)

Timeline discussionsedit source

Hi, since theory talk pages don't provide any form of notification, I just thought I'd like to invite you to take part in the various (slowly progressing) timeline discussions taking place at the moment. We started at Theory talk:Timeline - Second Doctor, and we've since started several more wide-reaching discussions at Theory talk:Timey-wimey detector, and then the discussion at Theory talk:Timeline - Seventh Doctor. If you're not interested, that's fine, I just thought I'd let you know in case you were. Danochy 04:05, June 9, 2020 (UTC)
