After the crew of Fireball XL5 discovered a new asteroid in hyperspace and landed to investigate, they were taken prisoner by the Batmen. (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!) When news reached Space City of the capture of Dr. Venus, Commander Zero stormed out of the day's press conference with an abrupt "No comment" after he was asked about it. (COMIC: Genesis of Evil) Space City was stunned when it transpired that Colonel Steve Zodiac had surrended the XL5 to the "dangerous" Batmen. There was utmost concern for the safety of all space freighters and passenger flights throughout the Universe with the ship in alien hands. (PROSE: Fireball Surrenders!)
