A member of the race known has the Weeping Angels, it is the first example of a fully powered and healthy Angel (The angels from Blink being revealed to be weak scavengers). The Angel possesses all the traditional characteristics of its race has well as additional abilities that include voice projection and the power to make projections of its self and other powers. It is responsible for the crash of the Byzantium; this was part of a rescue mission to aid a starving colony of Angels.
Angel Bob was a name the Doctor gave to the Weeping Angel that was within the vault of the Byzantium. Called 'Angel Bob' because it spoke using Bob's central nervous system. (DW: The Time of Angels)

A four second recording of the Angel was played on a monitor inside a surveillance chamber that was put inside the Aplan Temple. River Song showed the Doctor, Amy and Father Octavian four seconds of the footage. Amy stayed inside the surveillance chamber whilst the Doctor and River went outside to look at some research and Octavian left to prepare the detonation to get into the Maze of the Dead.
The Angel was able to project itself through a 4 second looped recording shown by River Song to the Doctor, Amy Pond, and Father Octavian.

Amy Pond, alone with the angel and through observing (and not observing) the Angel noticed that it was able to move from within the recording, and was able to stretch its influence beyond the image; deadlocking the doors of the pod, trapping Amy within. The Angel was able to project itself beyond the image and was able to become a projection in the room, however Amy was able to exploit an glitch in the recording allowing her to turn off the projection of the image when it was close to making contact with her. (DW: The Time of Angels)

Alone in the monitoring room Amy noticed the Angel had lifted its head and was now looking at her, when she looked again it was now in the centre of the cell staring at her. While she was distracted by this she didn't notice the Angel seal the doors trapping her. Looking again the angel was now right in the camera face and then snarling. Amy was sealed inside and the door deadlocked. The Angel on screen began to move, even though it was only a recording. Meanwhile, the Doctor and River discovered that an image of an Angel will eventually become one. The Angel on screen inside the chamber began to come out the screen. The Angel was stopped by Amy turning the monitor off at the end of the four second loop.

After getting on to the Byzantium the Doctor and the Clerics the group are chased through to one of the main decks of the ship and cornered. The Angel explains through Bob the angels are not just feeding on the ship anymore and is amused that the Doctor cant se what they can. Suddenly the Doctor senses something and looks up to find another crack in the universe only larger and wider than before. The Doctor is stopped from investigating the crack by the angels who want to feed on the crack who restrain him but he manages to escape. Catching up with the others who are tending a stricken Amy and realises there is an Angel inside Amy's head that will kill her has it claws its way out. The Angel tells the Doctor they are making Amy count down to her death to scare her and for their own amusement which seriously angers the Doctor.

Later has the crack continues to expand the Angels attempt to flee has the time energy leaking out would erase anything that comes near even the Angels. The angels eventually surround the Doctor and demand he throw himself in to the crack has that would reseal the crack. The Doctor instead alters the ships gravity and send all the angels tumbling in to the crack who's collective energy is the equivalent of the Doctor's thereby sealing the crack.

Like the rest of its kind the Byzantium angel is a psychopath; it showed no remorse for the killing of several clerics and also claimed to enjoy doing it when it spoke to the Doctor using a copy of Cleric Bob's consciousness. The Angel is also very patient and clever; the Doctor guessed it had never been dormant but had rather allowed it self to be captured so it could get the needed power to revive its people.

The Angel also seems to enjoy hunting and toying with its victims; rather than kill them in one go it preferred to take them one by one using the shadows to terrify its victims before coming in for the kill. It didn't come straight for the Doctor and appeared to be taking its time while tormenting the group by saying it was coming for them and flickering their lights to allow the weaker angels a chance to catch up with them.

Angel Bob was a name the Doctor gave to the Weeping Angel that was within the vault of the Byzantium. Called 'Angel Bob' because it spoke using Bob's central nervous system. (DW: The Time of Angels)

Before the crash

Prior to the crash of the Byzantium is lay in a "dormant" cycle. It had passed from private hand to private hand before coming into the hands of the Byzantium.

River Song was able to view and capture 4 seconds of footage of the Angel whilst on board the Byzantium, she was investigating its presence on behalf of the Church, prior to departing the ship (by leaving a message for the Doctor) she warned the captain his ship would crash.

The Byzantium crashed on an Aplan temple on Alfava Metraxis, whose species were wiped out by an unknown catastrophe in the mid 47th century. The Angel was the only survivor of the crash.

The Angel on the screen

In the catacombs

The Angel escaped the vault of the Byzantium and went through the Maze of the Dead. When Clerics Christian and Angelo were sent to investigate the further catacombs the Angel broke their necks, utilising their central nervous systems and vocal chords to lure other clerics to their deaths. The last cleric left alive Bob it also removed his central nervous system and vocal chords as a means to communicate with the Doctor, Amy, River and the remaining clerics. The Doctor, upon hearing the Angel use Bob's voice decided to call it "Angel Bob". (DW: The Time of Angels)

Within the crashed Byzantium

After cornering the Doctor and the clerics within the (crashed) Byzantium "Angel Bob" revealed to the Doctor that they (the Weeping Angels) were no longer just feeding on the ship, and was amused that the Doctor could not see what they saw; a a crack in time (DW: Flesh and Stone)

As the crack expanded "Angel Bob" attempted to coerce the Doctor into throwing himself into the crack in order to seal it, saving the Angels and potentially Rive and Amy. When the gravity on the Byzantium failed "Angel Bob" and the rest of the other Weeping Angels on board fell into the crack, sealing it. (DW: Flesh and Stone)

Personality

"Angel Bob" showed no remorse for the killing of several clerics and also claimed to enjoy doing it when it spoke to the Doctor using Cleric Bob's vocal chords and central nervous system. It also tormented Amy with a copy of its self by making her think she was turning to stone. The Angel was also very patient and clever; the Doctor guessed it had never been dormant but had rather allowed it self to be captured so it could get the needed power to revive its people.
