CAL Video was a pioneer in the British computer generated images (CGI) industry. In 1987, they were called upon by John Nathan-Turner to render the designs of Oliver Elmes[1] into the new Doctor Who logo[2] and new title sequence used during the Sylvester McCoy era.[3]
This was the first Doctor Who logo ever to be created entirely using computers.
