Buttons was friends with Monica and Cuthbert. After seeing Dr. Who on television, the trio decided to attempt to get Dr. Who's autograph, but they were chased by a guard at the television studio. Hiding inside Dr. Who's TARDIS, they accidentally travelled to the Stone Age, and after they were chased back into the TARDIS by a caveman, they left the TARDIS in the 20th century and were chased by the guard once again.
