Anomaly, stylized as Aᴎomaly, is a currently unproduced spin-off film which was first announced in 2019.[1] Although not officially canceled, the film has missed its intended release date of 2021 and little information is available about the state of the project.

The film was intended as a sequel to the 1995 film Downtime and the 2004 film Dæmos Rising, featuring the return of Beverley Cressman as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Miles Richardson as Douglas Cavendish. The film also would have established that the Kate Lethbridge-Stewart seen in Reeltime Pictures' Downtime and the Kate Stewart seen in BBC's The Power of Three onwards as distinct from each other.[2] Although Keith Barnfather also indicated that the film would be set "before Kate joins UNIT in Doctor Who.[3] Alongside this, the film would have been a sequel to the 1972 Doctor Who television story The Time Monster.

Production on the film was put on pause when the decision was made to focus on Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arodor instead. Concept art of the film indicated that Sophie Aldred was meant to appear in the story.[4] Ironically, Aldred would instead appear in the 2021 Doctor Who television story The Power of the Doctor, which featured the BBC incarnation of Kate.

As of February 2023, Barnfather still believe the film was "soon to be made."[5]
