I mean, what would you proposing we do, implementation-wise? "According to one account, the Homeworld was another name for Gallifrey, home to the Great Houses of the Time Lords… whereas according to another account the Homeworld was the home of the Great Houses"? There isn't actually a textual contradiction here, so I don't even know how we could possibly write such a thing if we wanted to.
