Colin Colchester-Price (né Price) was the husband of St John Colchester.

Biography

Early life

Colin Price was from Leeds. (AUDIO: A Kill to a View) When he was young, he had nine years of piano lessons. (AUDIO: Escape Room)

In the 2000s or earlier, (AUDIO: Orr) Colin entered into a relationship with St John Colchester, who he later married on a beach in the rain. (AUDIO: Future Pain) His mother disapproved of the relationship (AUDIO: Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy) and did not attend their wedding. (AUDIO: Future Pain) Colin's cousin once sent Colchester a scented candle (AUDIO: Night Watch) and the couple were used to receiving apologies from Colchester's sister Jane, who lived in New Zealand. (AUDIO: Future Pain)

The couple lived together in Colchester's hometown of Hove in a farmhouse, (AUDIO: A Kill to a View) where Colin was comfortable. However, Colchester's work often kept them apart, meaning that Colin sometimes had to go on holiday on his own. (AUDIO: Future Pain) The two had sex in their car on the day that they bought it. (AUDIO: Thoughts and Prayers)

Life in Cardiff

Sorvix occupation

Mr Colchester was assigned to Torchwood Three, necessitating a move to Cardiff. Although Mr Colchester wanted Colin to remain in Hove, Colin insisted on moving with him. (AUDIO: Future Pain) They lived for a time on Davenport Street before moving to Flat 151 of Ritz Tower, a flat that Colin loved. He frequently refused to leave the building due to the rise of hate crimes in the city, but did receive a visit from Rhys Williams who nicknamed them both the "Torchwood Widowers".

Wanting to make friends, Colin agreed to a dinner party with Sandra and Andrea and was joined by the caretaker, Bilis Manger. When Mr Colchester arrived and used their safeword, Sandra and Andrea tried to kill them both and they fled, but Mr Colchester was able to overpower and kill them. His aggression allowed Bilis to open the Rift and send a message (AUDIO: A Kill to a View) to God. (AUDIO: Future Pain) They waited on the roof for a helicopter as Colin had been cut by Sandra. (AUDIO: A Kill to a View)

Colin and Mr Colchester went to the Escape Room with Rhys and Ng, being paired up with the latter. Although he solved most of the puzzles, Escape said that he was weak. On the journey home, Colin asked Mr Colchester how "Gwen" had become so cold as to attempt to sacrifice Mr Colchester for herself and Colin. (AUDIO: Escape Room) To recover from the experience, he went to stay with his sister for a time. (AUDIO: Herald of the Dawn)

Widowerhood

Colin was back at Ritz Tower making dinner when Tyler called him and told him of Mr Colchester's death. He was angry that Yvonne would not let him have his husband's body due to Torchwood protocol and that he had to have his funeral without it. The Prices declined to attend the funeral, during which Colin helped fight a plasmic psychovore and was confused when Orr took Jack's form in his presence. Yvonne took him to the Hub to watch Mr Colchester's last message and, in her absence, he also watched N-Space Yvonne's. (AUDIO: Future Pain)

Colin was on Queen Street when a predator shrouded the city in darkness. He stumbled away and called Jack, gathering people to St Martin's for their safety and fleeing with Jack when the mob tried to take his night-vision goggles. Believing that Jack still had the goggles, Colin found the way to Ritz Tower by himself and, once inside, kissed Jack, whereupon Mr Colchester appeared. (AUDIO: See No Evil) Colin believed that Mr Colchester was a ghost or an impostor and hyperventilated before falling asleep because of the Night Sun. Upon waking, he and Mr Colchester decided to kiss to see if he was real, (AUDIO: Night Watch) which it did. (AUDIO: Flight 405)

God and the DRC

On Colin's birthday, Mr Colchester and Jack had their bodies swapped, something that they kept secret from Colin so as not to ruin his day. Jack took him on a tour of Cardiff's rooftops, to feed the ducks sans bread, to Antonio's and through Rift corridors to other planets. When the body swap was undone, he told Mr Colchester that he had had a good day. (AUDIO: Another Man's Shoes)

Following the tsunami, Colin helped out at the camp at Ritz Tower, as did Tyler. He befriended Bethan Foster. (AUDIO: A Mother's Son) After Mr Colchester told Colin about ScrapeJane, he believed in her and was attacked. Ng arrived and saved them both before drugging Colin to neutralise his belief in the monster. (AUDIO: ScrapeJane)

Colin was making plans for the camp with Tyler when they realised that the city had lost water. When he checked on Orr, he found that they were creating fresh water and began bottling it and distributing it amongst the refugees. After violence broke out, Colin felt what Orr was feeling and begged for their help when they refused to continue making water, saying that humans could not help themselves. (AUDIO: Day Zero)

Mr Colchester promised Colin that he would be with him if the world did indeed end. However, when the end seemed to come, Colin was unable to get a hold of his husband and left him several voicemails, crying because he was alone. Once the situation was resolved, he left another voicemail telling him that he was waiting for him to return. Unbeknownst to him, Mr Colchester was going on the run from the authorities. (AUDIO: Thoughts and Prayers)

Later life

At Mr Colchester's funeral, the plasmic psychovore told Colin that the worst of his future pain was yet to come. Colin took this to mean living without his husband. (AUDIO: Future Pain)

Personality

Colin loved shopping (AUDIO: Changes Everything) and modern interior design. As he was Muslim, he did not drink alcohol and enjoyed doing sudoku after a long, hard day. He was scared by the threat of hate crimes in Cardiff and sometimes refused to leave Ritz Tower out of fear. (AUDIO: A Kill to a View)

Appearance

When Orr adapted to Mr Colchester’s greatest sexual desires, they took the form of Colin, ten years younger. In Orr's reproduction, Colin was a large, muscular dark-skinned male. (AUDIO: Orr)
