::Opening extra stuff isn't the issue per se, but confusion ''as to how much you have to open is''. Also, if there are ''three or more'' participants in a conversation, which does happen, having it in this hybrid model where perhaps two people have a conversation on a single talk page and one person responds on another would cause more confusion still.
