- Russell T Davies confirmed in issue 378 of Doctor Who Magazine that Dalek Sec and other Daleks who escaped the Void at the end of Doomsday will appear in this episode.
- Although various Dalek Emperors, Dalek Supremes, and the Dalek creator Davros, have appeared over the years, Dalek Sec will be the first individual recurring Dalek.
