Burping, sometimes called belching or eructation, was the act of suddenly expelling wind from one's body through the mouth. Unlike breathing, burping was loud and somtimes considered childish.
Burping could be induced in humans by fizzy soft drinks. The Tenth Doctor encouraged Martha Jones and Solin Tiermann to drink some pop and burp in order to scare off the Voracious Craw. (PROSE: Sick Building)
