The Sturmabteilung, (PROSE: Wolfsbane) also known as the "Brownshirts", or SA, was Hitler's private army, who effectively replaced Germany's police force, suppressing subversive Bolshevist elements and restoring law and order. They wore a red band with a swastika on their uniform, and were considered by Pollitt to be Nazis. (AUDIOThe Alchemists)
