The Alforia, or Alforians, were a race of people who at some point were sheltering dissidents on the Alforus Extant.
The Grand Serpent wanted to form an alliance with them on the condition that five of the dissidents would be returned to the Serpent to face trial, with four others (all family members of Frey Sampor, the Serpent's opponent and vocal critic) were to become part of a "natural accident"; in return, the Alforians would be put under the protection of the Grand Serpent.
