Michael Thomas was the fiancé of Frances. After being injured in the Somme, he couldn't face going back to her and led her to think he was dead. When Jamie McCrimmon told him to help Frances and Polly Wright in November 1920, this act helped to defeat the ghosts of the dead from overtaking the world. (AUDIO: The Mouthless Dead)
