Rosie was an orphan and the younger sister of Lola, with whom she lived in an orphanage operated by Mrs Hatchet.

In 1852, Rosie was seemingly eaten by a monster from her nightmares. With the Tenth Doctor's help, the cause of this was discovered and the apparent eating was reversed. (PROSE: The Shape on the Chair)
