Karl Donitz

Admiral Donitz was the highest ranking naval commander of Nazi Germany at the end of World War II. On 29 April 1945, Führer Adolf Hitler dictated his final Will and Political Testament, which named Donitz as his successor. (PROSE: The Shadow in the Glass)

Behind the scenes

  • Although not identified as Karl Dönitz, the character of Donitz is intended to be the real world German admiral of this name.
  • In the real world, Hitler named Dönitz as Reichs President of Germany and Joseph Goebbels as Chancellor of Germany, dividing the position of Führer into two following his death. In the DWU, the position in which Donitz succeeded Hitler has not been stated.
