Mrs Merridew was a maid at Woolsthorpe Manor by 1666.

Biography

In 1666, Mrs Merridew was sweeping the front step of the manor when she greeted Isaac Newton as he went to sit under an apple tree to "contemplate the mysteries of God's universe." Appearance
