The Ninth Corsair was the final incarnation of the Renegade Time Lord known as the Corsair. He was often described as being a "strapping big fellow".

Biography

The final incarnation of the Corsair visited the Supreme Leader to collect the feather left behind by his Parrot companion. He also collected a reward for supplying information on the mysterious woman and bird whom had escaped the Supreme Leader (in actuality one of his own past incarnations). He disappeared, and was never heard from again. (PROSE: One Virtue, and a Thousand Crimes)

The Corsair drew their name from frequently going on unofficial missions for the Time Lords, with their status as a Renegade meaning that the Time Lords could claim they had no responsibility for the Corsair's actions. One such mission saw the Ninth Corsair taking part in the Fourth Universal Survey Expedition, an effort on the part of the Time Lords to keep tabs on all of reality. (PROSE: Eleven Things You Probably Didn't Know About the Corsair) Like many Time Lords before him, the Corsair was lured by distress calls seemingly coming from other Time Lords, and left his home universe through a rift in the Vortex and into a bubble universe.

There, the Corsair went the way of House's numerous other Time Lord victims who had fallen into House's bubble universe and was marooned when his TARDIS was drained of energy by the parasitic entity known as "House". The Corsair had only just enough time to get a message together before he was finally killed. The two "patchwork-people" created by House, "Auntie" and "Uncle", received the Corsair's left arm and "the spine and the kidneys", respectively.

The Eleventh Doctor discovered the Corsair's fate after being contacted by a hypercube with their peculiar Ouroboros symbol and following its psychically encoded distress message to House. He eventually discovered the Corsair's remains in Auntie and Uncle; this and the stockpile of hypercubes House used as bait cemented his fury in confronting and defeating House with Idris. Legacy

During one adventure, while pushing a heavy crate, the Eleventh Doctor said that if he kept up this habit, he would develop big arms like the Corsair. (GAME: The Eternity Clock)

Appearance

In their seventh incarnation, the Corsair stated that she wanted one of her next incarnations to have "a body with muscles [...] with one of those faces people just trust". Indeed, when the Supreme Leader later encountered the final Corsair, he immediately trusted him upon seeing his face. The Corsair was also described as a "strapping big fellow" who also had a tattoo of "a snake-swallowing-its-tail" on his inner left wrist. (PROSE: One Virtue, and a Thousand Crimes) Auntie also thought that the Corsair was a "strapping big bloke", and had the Corsair's left arm with the Ouroboros tattoo grafted onto her body comprised of limbs and organs taken from many individuals.
