Guybrush (who drew his nickname from The Secret of Monkey Island) is Ben McKenzie, a writer, performer, teacher and game designer who lives in Melbourne, Australia.

A long-time, perhaps even old-school Doctor Who fan, he has written fan fiction, attended conventions and once had a way-too-serious article about the Valeyard published in Sonic Screwdriver, the fanzine of the Victorian Doctor Who Fan Club. He doesn't do much of those things any more, though he did co-host a popular live Doctor Who podcast celebrating the 50th anniversary called Splendid Chaps. That’s (mostly) wrapped up now, but it led to the creation of the clearly Who-inspired time travel radio comedy Night Terrace, and he currently makes a Terry Pratchett book club podcast called Pratchat.

As you might guess from the title of that old podcast, Ben is a "splendid chaps, all of them" kinda guy. (See TV: The Five Doctors if you don't understand the reference.) But really, deep down, Seven will always be his favourite, even as he loves all the others too.

Back in the Old Times, he used to make a lot of contributions to Doctor Who articles on Wikipedia, but stopped when he felt that there was far too much specific Who content there for a general encyclopaedia. He switched to the Wikia (as it was then) but is now super stoked to see TARDIS Wiki go independent!
