Screamers were a piece of Dalek technology present on every Dalek flying saucer.
Screamers were overpowered loudspeakers, whose sonic waves could deafen at a distance, making them invaluable to allow the Daleks to disrupt military operations below. If need be, the sonic waves could also be used to kill entire populations, though as they preferred to reserve themselves some live slave-workers, the Daleks rarely made use of this feature.
