Normally, a TARDIS dies when its pilot dies. If the Pandorica is a pocket dimension (very small dimension) and the Doctor would be placed inside it, the Doctor would not be present in the same universe as his TARDIS anymore which may be a reason for his TARDIS to think the died, thus dying (by exploding). After the episode ("The Pandorica Opens")
Normally, a TARDIS dies when its pilot dies. If the Pandorica is a pocket dimension (very small dimension) and the Doctor would be placed inside it, the Doctor would not be present in the same universe as his TARDIS anymore which may be a reason for his TARDIS to think the died, thus dying (by exploding).
