"Man-trap" is a title based upon conjecture.

Man-traps, or Things[1], were large slug-like creatures created by the Dots that killed and ate the residents of Finetime, and were seen standing in the ruins of Homeworld. (TV: Dot and Bubble [+]Loading...["Dot and Bubble (TV story)"])
Behind the Scenes
- While not named in the episode itself, the accompanying episode of Doctor Who: Unleashed identifies them as "man-traps". DWM 606, however, states that they are called Things, and that "Mantraps" was simply the nickname given to them on-set.[1]
