Kara Delbane was an APE who explored Absolom Sleed's twisted world of Sharabeth alongside another Agent. Sleed later killed Kara as part of an elaborate plan and her death was investigated by Irving Braxiatel and Bernice Summerfield with help from Chris Cwej. (PROSE: Return to the Fractured Planet)

The writer of Return to the Fractured Planet, Dave Stone, later re-released three of his Virgin New Adventures novels with all of the DWU concepts removed. In this series the role of Bernice Summerfield was taken by a new character who shared Kara's surname, Pandora Delbane.
