Behind the scenes
The phrase "Oh my god - They've killed Kenny!" and other variations are evidently references to the recurring line "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!" in South Park, itself a reference to the recurring gag of character Kenny McCormick's various deaths; another character from the series, Eric Cartman, was also referenced earlier in The Tomorrow Windows [+]Loading...["The Tomorrow Windows (novel)"]. The cartoon characters on Bernice Summerfield's t-shirt in Another Girl, Another Planet [+]Loading...["Another Girl, Another Planet (novel)"] are never identified, but are presumably intended to be South Park characters.
