1605 was a year notable for the Gunpowder Plot which occurred in November.

The Gunpowder Plot

Ian, Barbara, Vicki and the First Doctor arrived in England during the events of the "Gunpowder Plot". Following the collapse of the plot, Robert Catesby and Sir Thomas Percy fled to Holbech House in Staffordshire, where they were shot and killed by the Sheriff of Worcester's men. Also killed was the genuine Guy Fawkes. The time travellers' presence had altered history slightly; Fawkes died a year early. Sir Robert Cecil, King James' chief minister, immediately seized upon the political opportunity of a dead Fawkes. He labelled his political rival, Robert Hay, as Fawkes. This allowed for Hay's execution under the name "Fawkes" the next year. History thus healed itself. (PROSE: The Plotters)

The Eleventh Doctor intervenes between a battle of Sontarans and Rutans. (GAME: The Gunpowder Plot)

Another account, however, suggested that the Eleventh Doctor, Rory, and Amy arrived to find Lady Winters (a Rutan in disguise) interfering with events, as well as a Sontaran army trying to find a Rutan doomsday device. The Doctor gave them each a doomsday device, one set for the Sontarans and one for the Rutans. If one of them used it, they would not know if they were killing themselves. The two armies left and history continued on its wonted path. (GAME: The Gunpowder Plot)

The Eleventh Doctor arrived on 5 November to take Guy Fawkes to the Ponds' house to make a "firework extravaganza". (COMIC: Gunpowder, Time Lord and Plot)

A third account stated the Thirteenth Doctor and Yaz witnessed Fawkes being captured as expected, but the Houses of Parliament were later destroyed anyway by Berthold Schwarz. The time travellers later brought his ruined self from the far future to see him, convincing him not to commit the crime and returning history to normal. (PROSE: Black Powder)

Dated events
