The Vampire Lovers was a 2|entertain documentary on the making of State of Decay and was released on the DVD of the serial. It served as a general account of the serial's production.

It focused on the final version of the script after three years and how it had changed. It also looked at the design of the story, showing how a room could be made to look bigger with simple effects. This was used for the Hydrax's throne room.

The Vampire Lovers also looked at the concept of blood within the story and explained some of the inspiration behind the script.
