"The Beast Below" was a musical piece composed by Murray Gold.

It was first used in the Series 5 episode The Beast Below (which it is named after) where the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond fall through a rubbish dump which they later find out was the mouth of a star whale.

The piece was used in several next time trailers throughout series 5 to 8 such as The God Complex in series 6, The Angels Take Manhattan and The Crimson Horror, both in series 7 and was last featured in the next time trailer for Into the Dalek in series 8.

Several variants of the piece were used in The Adventure Games throughout all of series 1.
