SSS HQ was the headquarters of the Space Security Service. It was located within a mountain and its location was a secret to presidents and prime ministers. (PROSE: The Outlaw Planet)

At the SSS HQ, over two hundred men were on twenty-four hour guard at Gate 1. The heavily wooded hilltop above the HQ slid back to open the launch tubes. Everyone entering or leaving the HQ were required to first report to Main Reception to undergo a security check. Each launch tube in the SSS HQ is two miles deep. The K9 Rockets at HQ take eight seconds to blast-off. All vertical shafts at SSS HQ were equipped with high-speed lifts.

SSS HQ had an Agents' Briefing Room, living quarters for male and female operatives, a Space Transport Control room, an Observation Room, a Space Medical Centre that specialised in space illness and research, a Communication centre in constant contact with every planet in the universe, an Administration Sector where records and files were stored, a Weapons Laboratory where experimental work was carried out, several kitchens that specialised in health-giving diets for agents, a gymnasium where agents kept fit and trained in the arts of self defence. The housing for Compuvac is totally bomb-proof and ten miles beneath the surface. The size of the chamber is one mile by half a mile and is almost entirely filled by Compuvac itself. Marc Forest's command office is directly linked to Compuvac by a tunnel. The mountain village division of SSS security was said to very good as the inhabitants had no idea about what was inside. The power supply units at SSS HQ provided power for the entire network in the mountain.

All agents possessed SSS badges that were to be worn at all times when inside HQ. The badges were treated with radio activity so any counterfeit ones could be easily detected by Reinger counters. In addition, all agents carried a trans-reciever pen that enabled them to keep in contact with HQ from anywhere in the universe. Agent Seven's radicom unit allowed him to be in constant contact with HQ. (PROSE: Top Secret)

The Eighth Doctor was aware of SSS HQ. While at the 3999 Galactic Olympics, the Doctor once pretended to be an SSS agent there on orders from SSS HQ. (PROSE: Placebo Effect [+]Loading...["Placebo Effect (novel)"])
