This article needs an in-universe perspective.

It currently has too much of a real-world perspective. It may also be written primarily in the present tense. Please check the overall content against our Manual of Style, consult the talk page and revision history for any relevant notes, employ the past tense, and then remove this message.

The Department was a sinister totalitarian Government that dominated London in the mid-21st Century. It is one of the chief antagonists of K-9 (TV series). Whether it will be overthrown at the climax of the first season or continue as an antagonist for the entire course of the series is unknown.

Overview

The Department is led by the mysterious LOMAXX. Some of it's villainous members include Inspector Drake, head of the security section and Inspector Thorne, Governor of Dauntless Prison while some of it's more heroic members include Inspector June Turner the head of the alien activity section, Professor Alistair Gryffen and by his assistant Darius Pike.

It kept the population under control with it's robotic forces such as the CCPC who were notorious for Police brutality, robot surveillance cameras, hovering orange spheres with lasers and the Department also created Androids. They were willing to go to any lengths to gain the public's obedience such as publicity stunts and propaganda messages. (K9TV: Liberation/The Bounty Hunter/Sirens of Ceres)

The Department also maintained a harsh policy on aliens, capturing any that came to Earth. They were referred to as Fallen Angels and imprisoned in Dauntless Prison.
