I recently created discontinuity templates for the SJA and Torchwood so that they could link to the discontinuity pages. I used the code from the Doctor Who ones, and everything is almost fine. The only problem that I'm having with them is that they don't link to the correct pages if they have (TV story) after the title. Some examples are [[The Gift (TV story)]], [[Reset (TV story)]] and [[Adam (TV story)]]. If someone with a little better knowledge than me could have a look and either fix it and tell me what it was, or tell me so I can fix it, then that'd be awesome. Thanks. --[[User:The Thirteenth Doctor|The Thirteenth Doctor]] 22:15, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

:This comes from a combination of how the discontinuity pages work and how the titling was implemented on the [[Forum:The Sarah Jane Adventures television discontinuity and plot holes]] page. I suspect the latter was a copy, paste and replace/add the discontinuity bit to the story titles.
:I'm sure CzechOut (who created the templates) stated it somewhere; that the discontinuity template doesn't need the 'TV story' bit on the discontinuity title for it all to link together. (Which is a nice bit of cleverness but needs this understanding/logic jump to make it work). Just looked it's written on the  [[Template:Discontinuity/doc]] and [[Template:SJA discontinuity/doc]] pages.
:Anyways...see [[Forum:Doctor Who television discontinuity and plot holes/Robot]], no TV story on it.
:There are actually two ways to fix this, the easiest way is to move (and correct in the [[Forum:The Sarah Jane Adventures television discontinuity and plot holes]] list) to without the TV story. So the TV story page remains with a bracketed TV story, but the discontinuity pages ''don't'' have the bracketed TV story on the end (this also helps to cut the length down a little bit).
:The other way is to mess around with the SJA discontinuity template and get rid of the cleverness. Which are all (though not limited to) the <nowiki>#ifexist:</nowiki> statements.
:So to summarise (as I have a tendency for my explanations to run on), [[Forum:Doctor Who television discontinuity and plot holes/Frontios]] is how the Doctor Who ones work, move the pages and drop the TV story on the forum page titles and it should work. --[[User:Tangerineduel|Tangerineduel]] 15:49, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

If this thread's title doesn't specify it's spoilery, don't bring any up.

I recently created discontinuity templates for the SJA and Torchwood so that they could link to the discontinuity pages. I used the code from the Doctor Who ones, and everything is almost fine. The only problem that I'm having with them is that they don't link to the correct pages if they have (TV story) after the title. Some examples are The Gift (TV story), Reset (TV story) and Adam (TV story). This comes from a combination of how the discontinuity pages work and how the titling was implemented on the Forum:The Sarah Jane Adventures television discontinuity and plot holes page. I suspect the latter was a copy, paste and replace/add the discontinuity bit to the story titles.
I'm sure CzechOut (who created the templates) stated it somewhere; that the discontinuity template doesn't need the 'TV story' bit on the discontinuity title for it all to link together. (Which is a nice bit of cleverness but needs this understanding/logic jump to make it work). Just looked it's written on the Template:Discontinuity/doc and Template:SJA discontinuity/doc pages.
Anyways...see Forum:Doctor Who television discontinuity and plot holes/Robot, no TV story on it.
There are actually two ways to fix this, the easiest way is to move (and correct in the Forum:The Sarah Jane Adventures television discontinuity and plot holes list) to without the TV story. So the TV story page remains with a bracketed TV story, but the discontinuity pages don't have the bracketed TV story on the end (this also helps to cut the length down a little bit).
The other way is to mess around with the SJA discontinuity template and get rid of the cleverness. Which are all (though not limited to) the #ifexist: statements.
So to summarise (as I have a tendency for my explanations to run on), Forum:Doctor Who television discontinuity and plot holes/Frontios is how the Doctor Who ones work, move the pages and drop the TV story on the forum page titles and it should work. --Tangerineduel 15:49, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
