A laser saw is a piece of technology aqcuired by Torchwood Three. The saw appeared to be for medical purposes. The device is able to not only open up flesh with a laser with virutally no mess, but can also reattach it with no visible signs afterwards.
History
In 2009, Captain Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones used the laser sawh to open up a dead body and retrieved a seemingly harmless alien from inside him that released morphine into the body. A few hours later, Agent Johnson took it from Harkness and opened up his stomach to place a small but powerful bomb, while he was temporarily killed by her. The bomb would later detonate, destroying the Captain and the Hub. (TW: Children of Earth: Day One)
