The Prydonian Chapter (also known as the Prydon Chapter) was known to produce devious Time Lords, and more than a few renegades, amongst them the Doctor and the Master.
History
The Prydonian Chapter was named after the Hero known as Prydonius. (NA: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible)
No less a personage than Rassilon, co-founder of the Time Lords, originally headed the Chapter before the creation of the Time Lords themselves. (DWM: Star Death)
Subsequently, more Time Lords from this chapter have assumed the office of Lord President than all others put together. (DW: The Deadly Assassin) It was known that this Chapter greatly opposed the creation of the N-Forms. (NA: Damaged Goods)
The House of Blyledge had senior members as part of this chapter. (NA: Cat's Cradle: Time's Crucible, MA: Cold Fusion) The Doctor and his Cousins belonged to the House of Lungbarrow (NA: Lungbarrow)
The chapter title bears an interesting linguistic similarity for the supposed origin of the name of "Britian," i.e, "The name 'Britain' has been traced back through the Latin 'Brittannia' back to 'Prydain' and the tribal 'Pretani', and most probably means 'the tattooed'."
Characteristics
Each Chapter had their own colours. The Prydonians had scarlet and orange ceremonial robes. (DW: The Deadly Assassin) The Prydonians had an abstract symbol known as the Prydonian Seal. (DW: The Five Doctors) Prydonians were noted for their cunning and that one could not take their eyes off them for a second. (BFA: Circular Time) Whilst they were known to be devious, it was believed that they were quite honest about this trait amongst their Chapter. (NA: Damaged Goods)
