The Clomians were a race from the planet Clom.
Biology
External features
Clomians shared several features of Raxacoricofallapatorians such as yellowish-green skin, surprising speed, three fingers, three toes and a tail. Unlike Raxacoricofallapatorians, Clomians were the size of an average Human. They also had normal Humanoid eye colours unlike the pure-black eyes of the Raxacoricofallapatorians. On some parts of their body they had several purpleish warts. They had pointed-ears and folds of skin on their cheeks. (DW: Love & Monsters)
Technology
Clomians presumably used some sort of spaceship as the "Abzorbaloff" was able to travel to Earth. The "Abzorbaloff" used a limitation field to control his absorbtion abilities, he also used some sort of technology to appear Human. (DW: Love & Monsters)
Culture
Some Clomians were Xenophobic and despised Raxacoricofallapatorians. (DW: Love & Monsters)
Occasionally Clomians bred with Raxacoricofallapatorians as the Abzorbalovian Rebels were descendants of the Raxacoricofallapatorian families, Chippeen and Fittereen. (WEB: Captain Jack's Monster Files)
History
The Clomians were part of the four-world Raxas Alliance along with the Raxacoricofallapatorians and the people of Raxacoricovarlonpatorius and Clix. (SJA: The Gift)
The Raxacoricofallapatorian Clom Colonists set up a colony on Clom. (WEB: Captain Jack's Monster Files)
The Abzorbalovian Rebels were a notorius Clomian criminal organisation descended from the Raxacoricofallapatorian Huspick Degenerate. (WEB: Captain Jack's Monster Files)
In early 2007 and Abzorbalovian Rebel came to Earth with the intention of finding the Doctor, absorbing him, gaining all his knowledge and experience and then taking his TARDIS. He tracked down LINDA and then went to their meeting place and offered to help them find the Doctor, he later took over the organisation. While LINDA worked to find the Doctor, he absorbed some of them claiming they simply left the group, however Ursula Blake and Elton Pope discovered his true intentions. He then absorbed Ursula and tried to absorb Elton, however the Doctor and Rose Tyler found Elton and delayed the absorption. Before he could absorb Elton, the absorbed victims fought back and the Abzorbaloff died when Elton destroyed his limitation field. (DW: Love & Monsters)
Abzorbalovians
A group of Clomians called the Abzorbalovian Rebels, through use of a limitation field gained the ability to absorb other individuals as food. The physical absorption process was begun by a simple touch and was irreversible. The faces of their victims could be seen embedded in their flesh and retain their identity and consciousness for several days at least, but are also able to access the creature's own thoughts. As previously noted, the limitation field (disguised as a cane) to keep the absorption ability in check. (WEB: Captain Jack's Monster Files/DW: Love & Monsters) It is unknown if all Clomians have Absorbption abilites or just the Abzorbalovian Rebels
Behind the scenes
- The basic design for the Abzorbaloff, and its name, came from a drawing by then 9-year-old William Grantham, an entrant to a Blue Peter competition to design a Doctor Who. The on-screen Abzorbaloff was slightly changed as William Grantham originally intended it to be the size of a double-decker bus.
