Starship

Starship (a.k.a. interstellar spacecraft) are spacecraft designed to travel between star systems or galaxies.

History

Human starships

We do not know at which point in history Humans developed starships, although they seem to exist by the early 21st century. (DW: Nightmare of Eden)

It is possible that the stunnel link between Earth and Arcturus stalled the invention of cost effective starships. (NA: Transit)

Methods

Starships have two basic ways of traversing interstellar space:

• Starships which utilize faster-than-light travel.
• Starship which travel at near to or just under the speed of light but make allowances for the distances involved.
  • Ships that put their crew and/or passengers into suspended animation, often using cryogenic suspension.
