We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

Hi :) Thank you so very much for your recent file uploads. You've really helped us improve our coverage of R4 DVD releases. One tiny thing, though. You're introducing a spelling and format error by typing:

==Liscensing:==

into the edit box. That's actually not a proper spelling of the word. Although you will find Google hits for "liscensing", that doesn't make it correct. That just means a lot of people are spelling it wrong, probably because they're conflating the proper British and American spellings into a new spelling. Five separate dictionaries (including Merriam-Webster, Oxford American, Oxford English, dictionary.com and wiktionary) confirm that the British spelling is licencing, which is what's preferred when actually writing articles. The American spelling is licensing, which is automatically added to pages if you choose a licensing option from the dropdown menu. Because this American spelling is sort of "hard coded" into Special:Upload — wikia.com being an America-centric organization — it's probably best to stick with that when adding legal notices.

Also, it should be remembered that in British and Canadian use, the American spelling is correct for the word when it's used as a verb. Hence, licensing, as a particple derived from the verb, is a valid spelling, even in Britain — even though licencing is surely correct as well, as in Licenced to Kill. I honestly don't know the situation in the southern hemisphere, which is, I'd imagine, your home.

Note, too, that colons shouldn't be placed at the end of a section header. Thus the preferred heading for the section is:

I know it's nitpicky, and frankly I'd rather have the pictures you provide than grammatical consistency on pages most people never see. Still, if you're cutting and pasting into the edit box, it does no harm to cut and paste the header as it appears on most pages.
