Winter was a 2007 Big Finish full-cast audio short story, featuring the fifth Doctor and Nyssa. It was set within the last few moments of the fifth Doctor's life, as he was battling the Master for control of his regeneration — meaning that most, but not all, of the narrative takes place in the Doctor's mind.
It was further notable for being the only Big Finish audio, as of 2011, to use the character of Kamelion in any significant way.

Notes
- According to a 20 November 2006 blog post, Paul Cornell wrote this story without the assistance of Mike Maddox.
Continuity
- This story posits Nyssa's marriage a man named Lasarti, and the existence of their baby daughter, Neeka.
- Nyssa and her husband help the Doctor into a recreation of the Zero Room in his mindscape.
- The Master uses Kamelion's connection to the Doctor's TARDIS to try and prevent the fifth Doctor's regeneration into the sixth Doctor.
- There are mentions of Tegan , Turlough, and Adric.
- Nyssa and the Doctor encounter The Watcher in his mindscape.
- The Doctor says his next incarnation will be very colourful, a possible reference to the sixth Doctor's coat.
Timeline
This story firmly occurs in the last few seconds of the fifth Doctor's life, during episode 4 of DW: The Caves of Androzani.
For Nyssa, of course, it's some considerable time after DW: Terminus. However, it's a little unclear how this story relates to the adventures of the older Nyssa related in such stories as PDA: Asylum and her reunion with Turlough and Tegan in BFA: Cobwebs. She's substantially older than she was in Terminus, yes, but she's just had a baby, so she's still within child-bearing age for a Trakenite — whatever that is.
