The Petrified Forest was the remains of a forest on Skaro, in which all vegetation had been turned to stone, presumably by the use of neutron weapons in the neutronic war (or, alternatively, in the Thousand Year War). The TARDIS materialised in the forest when it first arrived on Skaro. The First Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara found the body of a magnedon there. A party of Thals led by Temmosus made their camp in the forest during their quest to save their people. (DW: The Daleks)

The petrified forest also appeared in the non-canonical Dr. Who and the Daleks.
