Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus (37-68), born Lucius Domitius Ahenobarbus, also called Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus, was the fifth Roman Emperor. He was encountered by the First Doctor, Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, and Vicki during the events of "The Romans" in the year 64. When the Doctor accidentally set fire to Nero's rejected plans for a new Rome, the Emperor was inspired to burn the old capital so his new city could be built.
