Menkaure was the pharaoh of Egypt around the 26th century B.C. An attempted assassination of him by one of Itennu's men was stopped by the First Doctor's cane. Immediately afterwards, a fight began between Menkaure's men and Itennu's. In a later incarnation, the Doctor admitted he had never found out what had happened to Menkaure. (IDW: The Forgotten)
