Tavius was a high-ranking member of Emperor Nero's court in Rome. Secretly a Christian, he agreed to assist Maximus Pettulian in his plot to kill Nero. He later purchased Barbara Wright at a slave auction, but later helped Ian Chesterton reunite with her and let the two of them escape. (DW: The Romans)
