i noticed in the impossible astronaught both amy and river have hold their yet stomachs and say they feel sick. amy when she is in the oval office and just before the astronaught apears. ( she then tells the doctor she is pregnant). river when she goes back into the hole after forgeting about the silence down there.
is it possible that they are either linked or that river is also pregnant. we dont really have enuogh info to speculate about yet but what do people think. any ideas 88.104.144.238 11:26, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
- I was wondering about that too. Amy seems to be in quite alot of pain for it to be just the pregnancy unless there is some kind of complication. And if the stomach pains are from the pregnancy then why does River also get them?
- I'm thinking that maybe the stomach pains are from the aliens because with the exception of right before Amy tells the Doctor she's pregnant, they all occur right after seeing and forgetting about the aliens. V00D00M0NKY 12:50, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
My guess is that even that stomach pain is from the aliens and that Amy's pregnancy has nothing to do with them. Perhaps Amy thinks that they are caused by the pregnancy since she cannot remember the Silence, much the way River blamed it on prison food.MasterIII 17:25, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Fair enough but even so, why did she get the pain right before telling the Doctor she's pregnant? Unless she saw one offscreen that we don't know about. Or the pain could be progressive where it gets worse and happens more often. But I belive the pain is from the fact your body is still in scared mode and your mind has no idea why. That could make you feel sick. V00D00M0NKY 17:49, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, they didn't really answer why sometimes they make people sick, but that's the most obvious answer. Panic and stress cause stomach pain, and it's worse when you can't actually react, so why wouldn't it also be worse when you don't even know you need ot react? --99.33.26.0 07:38, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
In one of the preview scenes, where they are telling Canton about the Silence, Amy says that they sometimes make people feel sick, but not always.Icecreamdif 19:40, April 26, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think it's likely that the pains are just the result of the silence.. Here is my theory- Both River and Amy are pregnany (to some extent.. only in Dr Who!). The idea that the stomach pain is a result of the Silence is really a quick-fix explaination for Amy. River is clearly lying when she tells Rory that her pain is the result of the prison food, and *see above* no other person under the influence of the Silence has expressed this symptom before.
If this is the case and they are both pregenant, then we can look at the regenerating-spacesuit-girl as potentially being the child of River and the Doctor. There is solid physical textual evidence of their future/past relationship, and if they were to have a child, then it is likely she (XD) would have a combination of human and gallifreyan DNA. The picture of Amy and the little girl as a baby, I assume, it Stephen Moffat have a jolly good time messing with us Whovians. While she may indeed be pregnant, I think that the regenerating-spacesuit-girl is not her daughter.
Does anyone think it's odd, say the doctor dies for real as *Matt Smith*, that River Song would need the spotter's guide, when she only ever met two versions of him? I know she said he never appeared in the right order, but now it seems that they are doing everything perfectly backwards, save for the singing towers, where he gives her the sonic screwdriver... gotta love Dr Who :) Alpha_Centauri
