Thaur was a giant viking warrior from the planet Norsum. He was one of the three that were banished from their homeworld by Queen Angboda and abandoned on primitive planets. Thaur was exiled to planet Earth, where he was found rampaging in a supermarket by the Tenth Doctor and Martha. The Doctor later agreed to help the now-calm space viking to free his warrior brothers so that they could be able to defeat the Space Viking Queen Angbodia.
