::I'm not fussed by any other alternatives Tardis/Wiki maintenance would be fine. I think if we're trying to separate out the admin/maintenance aspects that's what we should be emphasising rather than creating a potentially confusing category name to tie into the wiki's name. --Tangerineduel / talk 16:07, May 22, 2011 (UTC) | ::I'm not fussed by any other alternatives Tardis/Wiki maintenance would be fine. :::Well, if :category:TARDIS contains stuff about more than the Doctor's TARDIS, then it's confusing and needs to be renamed. It's pretty clear that there are enough pages covering aspects of the Doctor's TARDIS in particular to justify a category on its own. I haven't actually looked at the contents of :category:TARDIS to know what it contains that doesn't pertain to the Doctor's TARDIS, but I'm guessing there's enough to justify its own category as well. Mixing them together is less useful, from an organisational standpoint, than pulling them apart.
:::But that's getting off topic slightly. You seem to have expressed a clear bias against :category:Tardis to replace :category:Tardis Index File Wiki, despite that being a wikia-traditional way of naming the folder that contains all the maintenance stuff on a wiki. Fine. That's totally cool. I'd be against Rob's suggestion of "Index File", as "index file" is in no way a part of our formal project name, so it's as random as a "Who-y name" that we could come up with, and not as clear as a straightforward name. So, it seems to me that it's down to
::::*Tardis maintenance (good, cause at least our project name is in there; bad, cause maybe it implies maintenance on "the TARDIS")
::::*Wiki maintenance (good, cause it's straightforward; bad, cause it's just boring)
::::*The Hub (good, cause it's short and to the point. It works as a pun on Torchwood, but it's also just a plain English term that conveys the sense of what the category is even if you've never seen the first couple of series of Torchwood.)
:::Of the three, I clearly favor "the Hub". If no one has strong objections, I'll change it in seven days from the following datestamp. <span style="">23:21:58 Mon 23 May 2011 </span> |
