Michael Ferguson was one of the few directors assigned to stories of the First, Second, and Third Doctors.

He was also an uncredited assistant floor manager during the Daleks' debut serial (with Jeremy Hare). Part of his duties on this serial required him doing a bit of significant performing. He nominally played the first Dalek, as he operated the Dalek arms that threatened Barbara Wright at the end of the episode "The Dead Planet". (BBC DVD: The War Games)
