Biography

In 2011, he went to Angelo Colasanto's house, where he viewed evidence on the eye-5 contact lenses that Brian Friedkin was working for the families, and had framed Rex Matheson and Esther Drummond. Shapiro had Friedkin arrested, along with Colasanto's granddaughter, Olivia Colasanto. Unfortunately, Friedkin blew up the car that he and Olivia were in, making them both category ones. After Angelo became the first person on the planet to die since Miracle Day, Shapiro made it a priority to find out how he died. Esther found a null field generator under the floor where Angelo's bed had been. Captain Jack Harkness refused to tell Shapiro what the device was, so he had Gwen Cooper deported in an attempt to make Harkness talk. Harkness explained what the device was, but stole it and escaped with Drummond. (TW: End of the Road)

Following their plan being thwarted in Argentina, Shapiro realised that the Families had an agent within their very directorate. He the ordered Noah Vickers to engage the tracer software and find out who it was.

The tracer identified Charlotte as the traitor, just as Shapiro noticed a bag she left besides them and realised it contained a bomb, which detonated and killed him. The tracer's finding was, however, transmitted to Rex, which led to Charlotte being found out and gunned down. (TW: The Blood Line)
