Carter was the captain of the Teselecta. (DW: Let's Kill Hitler). He effectively saved the Eleventh Doctor's life during the Time Lord's farewell tour, offering him a favour as thanks for the Doctor's unending justice. The Doctor was copied by the Teselecta and beamed in. This copy was "killed" by River Song on 22nd April 2011, at 5:02pm. The Doctor escaped having faked his death and preserving the fixed point in time. (DW: The Wedding of River Song)
